NGO Collaboration

We believe in the objectives set forth by the Millennium Development Goals. The focus of our practice is MDG #8: "Develop a Global Partnership for Development".  The approach taken by GLOBAL LADDER towards this goal can be summarized as:

1) Support SME Development by every innovative and ethical means possible. This will sustain all other MDGs.

2) Create a defined role for Corporations, MNCs in particular;  MDG #8 cannot be successful without them.

3) Leverage GLOBAL LADDER's considerable collective experience in the private sector to fully realize the above
(please see Bios in "About Us").

Now that you understand the GLOBAL LADDER philosophy, allow us to outline the ways we can support your mission:

Creating New Business Opportunities for SMEs
GLOBAL LADDER understands what drives MNCs and where the opportunities are; this is what sets us apart from other firms in the private sector development arena. Global material procurement is a multi-billion dollar activity, annually, at every MNC across the world. Unraveling the spend data, supply chains and logistics required to access these opportunities is difficult work, but it can be extremely productive to the cause of SME Development. GLOBAL LADDER's expertise in MNC procurement and finance gives us the tools to engage business decision makers and operatives in ways that unlock new business opportunity for SMEs.

SMEs must rely on export markets for any meaningful growth given limited domestic market opportunities. Thus, for as critical as structural reforms are to the health of the SME sector-- efforts such as bureaucratic streamlining, infrastructure improvement, bolstering financial institutions-- will have minimal impact on the sector without substantial increases in export sales. GLOBAL LADDER understands this part of the equation. We will collaborate with you and your  NGO to create a seamless fit between improving conditions on the domestic front and creating new opportunities on the export front.

We share your quest for innovative solutions and measurable results and believe Globally Conscious Sourcing is that solution.

Strengthening SME Development
GLOBAL LADDER Cost Competitiveness consulting hones in on the SME's pricing structure, identifying areas of inefficiency and unrealized opportunities in procurement practices and manufacturing processes. Our expertise in strategic sourcing, Lean techniques, and operations finance allow us to construct systematic approaches to each SME's unique challenges. We train the SME's staff with tools that will immediately improve its' competitive position, regionally and globally. We install repeatable processes that enable the SME to adapt as the competitive landscape changes. And as potential customers, such as MNCs, become increasingly demanding of its suppliers the successful firms will be those that can demonstrate systemic cost and operational discipline. The web page entitled SME Support provides more description about our approach strengthening SMEs. Manufacturing Centers of Excellence
The pace of global manufacturing technology is moving at such a rate that it threatens to leave many parts of the world, particularly sub Saharan Africa, in a permanent state of backwardness. The antidote to such a calamity is to create production centers that house modern machinery and training facilities, raising the level manufacturing capabilities and capacity. These production facilities placed strategically by region, would have the combined effect of improving new business prospects in the short term while ensuring the development of a skilled work force and entrepreneurial class for the future.  We encourage to review our model for catalyzing the SME manufacturing base.
